Spot All The Easter Eggs In Hawkeye Episodes 1 and 2!

The first two episodes of Hawkeye were jam-packed with Easter Eggs. Here are a few golden ones you simply cannot miss:

  • Character Swaps

Kate Bishop

A bunch of Hawkeye characters are mentioned in the show but with a twist: Kate’s friend Greer is supposed to be a human-tiger hybrid named Tigra. Kate’s aunt Moira Brandon is a retired actress in the comics, whose reference is found in a movie poster in the aunt’s house.

Armand Duquesne too is from the comics, but canonically he’s Jack’s father, not his uncle. Lastly, Grills was Hawkeye’s neighbor. In the show, he’s been swapped to be a LARP enthusiast.

  • Honoring the Comics

The opening credit’s style is reminiscent of the 2012 Hawkeye comics creator and illustrator David Aja. Next up, in the scene where Kate rings the buzzer for her aunt’s apartment, the names on the apartment list belong to many prolific comic book writers: Marcel Sosa, Seth Meyers, Glenn Danzig, and Sam Moskowitz.

Kate’s username on the tracking app is Bishop112012, referring to November (11) of 2012 when Hawkeye Vol. 4 #2 came out, introducing Kate. Similarly, the watch from the auction items is tagged with #268… which is also the issue number of the Avengers comics where Kang the Conqueror is the villain. Coincidence? I think not.

  • Comic Book-Accurate

Hawkeye with earring aids and Kate Bishop in Purple Suit

Hawkeye kicks off with Kate’s comic book-accurate purple suit. After which, we have Clint wearing his earring aids for the first time, which is quite significant to the comics. We cannot miss out on Lucky the Pizza dog, who finally makes his MCU debut.

The icing on the cake is the hilariously on-point Tracksuit Mafia (Tracksuit Dracula, in the comics) who cannot help but say “bro” in every sentence.

  • The Rogers Musical

The musical was ripe with jabs and jokes of all kinds, butchering what actually happened at the Battle of New York. Notable mentions are Tony grabbing the nukes, the after-party shawarma, and Hawkeye’s character missing out on the glorification.

The Rogers Musical

My favorite was the line is “We’ll blame you then, but you’re good for now,” which, of course, is about the Sokivia Accords. Disney, just release the musical already!

  • Teasing The Avengers/Stark Tower

The first time we’re teased about the uncertain fate of the Stark Tower is in Spider-Man: Far From Home when we see it getting renovated. Now, as Clint informs us in Hawkeye, someone has bought the tower. But it’s worth wondering if the new owner is of any significance — especially to MCU’s future.

There are certainly more mentions that did not make the list. (Trust me, we could go on and on!) But I do hope this means the upcoming episodes of Hawkeye will be filled with more fun, nostalgic nuggets for fans to enjoy.
