Succession Season 3 Trailer Teases Roy Family War

The newly dropped Season 3 trailer for HBO’s Succession shows that the Roy family’s ties are more twisted than ever. The new season will be on HBO Max this coming fall.

The show follows the Roy family who own the conglomerate mediahouse WayStar RoyCo. With the patriarch of the family, Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) health declining, a tough decision needs to be made – Who will succeed him?

Succession: Season 3 | Official Trailer

The four heirs are: Eldest Connor Roy played by Alan Ruck, is removed as he is a consequence of Logan’s first marriage. The second is Jeremy Strong’s Kendall who is power-hungry for the seat. Next comes in Roman played Kieran Culkin, who often has the shorter end of the stick. And lastly politically charged Siobhan, often referred to as Shiv, played by Sarah Snook, Logan’s only daughter.

These are some new faces to look for this season as well with Adrien Brody, Sanaa Lathan and Alexander Skarsgård joining the cast

The dynamics of the Roy family were toxic as it is. And in the slow-burn Season 2 finale, Kendall, who’d be first in line to the WayStar power-seat decided enough was enough. He chose to not defend the company or take falls for any of the scandals, instead outing his father for the tyrant he is.

We can only imagine that this would not sit well with Logan.

In Season 3, the Roy family is set to go to war with each other once again, building allies and breaking trust.

Logan

Logan is no ordinary father, as Kendall reminds us in the trailer, “He’s our dad. But he was going to send me to jail. He’d do the same to all of us.” After bending his back to his father’s will in the first two seasons, Kendall is finally ready to straighten himself up. But will Kendall be able to rile up his siblings to his side?

Shiv seems to have plans of her own, offering an alliance to Kendall only if he lets her take over the company on victory over their father.

With many chess pieces in place, there’s no telling the fate of the Roy family. Succession will return to HBO Max in fall, date yet unannounced.
