Could Josh Peck’s Drew Be the Father in How I Met Your Father?

How I Met Your Father Episode 3 really upped its game and doubled the audience’s interest. And no, it’s not due to THAT Sid scene… but because they might’ve introduced another prime candidate for the Father.

The eyes, chico… they never lie. The moment they both appear in the scene together, there’s no denying that Drew and Sophie instantly like each other, from the way they can’t take their eyes off each other (except for when Sophie looks down to giggle and blush at his words).

Jesse, who’s observing them, instantly catches on and, in true wingman spirit, gives Sophie Drew’s number for when she’s ready to believe in love again.

Now, here’s the thing, Sophie’s off-screen son had already mentioned in the first episode that his mother met his father “that night,” but they didn’t actually get together then.

So naturally, everyone’s betting horse was Jesse because it’s almost a given that Ian might be the “Robin” here.

However, the hint that establishes Drew as a potential candidate for the Father is when he asks Sophie whether they’d met before, and voila! They had.

When Sophie went to Pemberton’s in Episode 1, she needed to charge her phone. Drew recalls that he was the person who lent her his charger. Besides the direction that this is obviously going in, the trailer has a few instances that hint at them getting in a relationship.

Now, as a person who loves HIMYM even with all its flaws and shortcomings, I can’t help but draw parallels between the two shows whenever I can. So based solely on such comparisons—here’s why he might not be the Father.

There’s a high chance that Drew could be to Sophie what Victoria was to Ted, aka the relationship that was perfect until it wasn’t. (In fact, Victoria was supposed to be the mother if HIMYM hadn’t made it past Season 1.)

Based on HIMYM’s knack for unexpected turns of events, if there is a great twist to the Father reveal, it simply won’t be interesting enough because then Drew being the one would be too predictable.

The only people truly out of the question are Sid and Charlie.

If the showrunners wanted to make things complicated and break up Sid’s engagement with Hannah, it’s more likely he’d get with Valentina than with Sophie.

As for Charlie, there’s zero chemistry there, so to quote a legendary sitcom—“Not happening, bro.”

Well, these are all just speculations, and things can go either way, but to me, Drew’s chances for a blooming romance in the near future sure look good.
