We do not know much about the main antagonist of the film yet, though several fan theories have been doing the rounds on the internet. Forge Fitzwilliam, played by Hugh Grant, is popularly suspected to be a villain.

The Red Wizard, who features in the new poster, could also be the antagonist. Many have been speculating that the undead Szass Tam from the games is a part of the film and Red Wizard in the poster supports the idea.

In the original games, Szass Tam leads the group of Red Wizards of Thay. The aim of the Red Wizards is to rule over the Forgotten Realms as the undead and end life in Toril. The Red Wizards make multiple appearances in the Dungeons and Dragons trailer, so it is clear that they will be a part of the film.

The trailer also included a mysterious clip of a wizard in a red robe holding up a horn. This could be a glimpse of Szass Tam himself.

The original Dungeons and Dragons is a role-playing game where a player can create their own characters, stories and a fantasy world while competing with friends. The film seems to be a social representation of the game and gives the combat and war a light-hearted funny twist.

In other words, the film will try its best to preserve the essence of the game, while adding a light-hearted, funny aspect to it. Dungeons and Dragons has been adapted as movies before, but none of them appealed to the audience.

From what the pictures and the trailer suggest, Honor Among Thieves could make up for past blunders and win hearts. It will definitely appeal to people who are looking for a funny medieval fantasy drama.
