A Stay At Disney’s New Star Wars Hotel Sure Is Expensive!

To partake of an exclusive Star Wars experience, fans do not have to travel to “a galaxy far far away…” but may have to take another look at their wallet, for reservations at Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser starts at 4,809 USD.

The phenomenon that is Star Wars began in 1977 with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. From here, we’d explore space through numerous TV shows, comic books, video games and of course, beloved collectables. The universe of Star Wars being as fantastical as it is demands to have its own immersive experience.

Disney also thought so when they dedicated a new 14-acre plot for a Star Wars-themed park titled Galaxy’s Edge. Soon after, they announced that they would also accommodate a hotel called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to be opened in Spring 2022.

Now before fans rush for reservations, there is a fair warning: Stay at the Galactic Starcruiser comes at a steep price. Here’s a tweet by Orlando Informer outlining the same:

The publication does say that the cost depends on varying factors and the estimated prices displayed are based on a weekend stay for August 20-September 17, 2022. A stay for two, factoring in various activities/experiences, would be priced at approximately 4,809 USD, while a stay for four would be 5,999 USD.

The patron’s journey will begin in the Halcyon spaceship where they will travel from Earth to Batuu. You can find all the franchise’s iconic characters in the atrium. If you’ve always dreamed about flying your own spaceship, then you will be happy to know that Halcyon’s bridge will be open-access, and you can get behind the wheel!

Other delights include lightsaber training, dining at Halcyon’s supper club, an all-ages bar called The Sublight Lounge, meeting characters like Rey and Chewbacca, window ports that gives you the sights of the universe… the list goes on.

The experience is lined out to be so wholesome, it would convince a person of being in another reality. This is perhaps why Disney is also rolling out a new term for it: Disney 360. They welcome fans to hop in, make their own personal Star Wars adventures, “interact with characters and become active participants in stories that unfold around them on their galactic journey”.

Of course, a harsh reality check comes in when you need to foot the bill for this celestial endeavor. While the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’s promises are unbeaten, it will put off guests who simply do not have the budget for this. One fan even lines out how the same efforts could be put into making a premium attraction that would be accessible to all fans, instead of a select (rich) few.

Whether Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is worth the Republic Credits is now up to fans to decide.
