Creators Tease the Importance of the Clock in Stranger Things 4 Trailer

The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, Matt and Rufus Duffer. recently teased the significance of the grandfather clock that has been present throughout the Stranger Things Season 4 trailer and called it “a really core part” of Season 4’s central mystery.

After a three-year-long wait, Stranger Things is soon going to be back on Netflix with its fourth season, which is set to release in two volumes. Volume I will release on May 27, 2022.

The fourth season is set three months after the events of Season 3, which had ended with the battle of Starcourt Mall against Mind Flayer. As per the Season 4 trailer, Hopper is still alive and in a Russian labor camp. The gang is busy investigating the Creel House in Indiana, where a mysterious grandfather clock is situated and forms the center of the mystery in this season.

Recently, the Duffer Brothers broke down certain elements of the trailer with IGN. Ross called it a “really core part” of the mystery central to Season 4. Matt also hinted that any character who simply sees the clock will experience something “not so great.”

The trailer gives the vibe of a horror film, perhaps because the Duffer brothers were inspired by the show’s horror ambitions in Season 4. This manifested into the haunted house subplot and exploring a new location.

The first glimpse of the Creel House was revealed in a teaser last year, which somehow hinted at the grandfather clock being connected to the Upside Down in some way.

Netflix also did a 24-hour live stream featuring the mysterious grandfather clock before the release of the recent trailer of Season 4, so it is pretty much being promoted as being detrimental to the upcoming season.

You can stream Stranger Things on Netflix. Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on May 27.
