Criminal Minds Cast Can’t Contain Joy over Revival

If you were sad about the Criminal Minds ending after its long run, chances are your yearning will grow twice as much after seeing how its cast members can’t contain their excitement about the revival.

In a new Instagram post, actress Kirsten Vangsness posed alongside some of her co-stars from the CBS drama and teased the upcoming renewal on Paramount+.

Vangsness, who has portrayed Penelope Garcia for the entirety of the series’ 15-year long run, captioned the post,

Hi @paramountplus I had an Exceptional Evening with these Excellent Eggs last night and I wanted to let you to know we are fun & interesting & rad to hang out with & also we are ever so appreciative that Erica Messer is a genius who makes the crime doughnuts in the most singular way.

Vangsness is seen alongside Aisha Tyler, Paget Brewster, Joe Mantegna, A. J. Cook and Adam Rodriguez, who were joined by the original run’s producer and writer Erica Messer.

Criminal Minds ran for 15 seasons with a total of 324 episodes from 2005 to 2020. In 2021, Nielsen reported that Criminal Minds became the most-streamed show in the United States and was viewed an estimated 33.9 billion minutes.

Even though the official release date and other such details for the revival are still uncertain, Paramount+ is determined to make it happen.

Last month the streamer confirmed that the project was “still very much in development” and further teased, “We’ll have more to share soon on that, but it is alive and well.”

Deadline recently reported that the reboot will supposedly follow the group solving a single case over the course of ten episodes.

About Criminal Minds

Criminal Minds is an American police procedural crime drama television series created and produced by Jeff Davis. The series aired its final season in January 2020 but in February 2021 it was announced that a 10-episode revival was officially greenlit for Paramount+.

The show’s original cast consisted of Mandy Patinkin, Thomas Gibson, Lola Glaudini, Shemar Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler, A. J. Cook, and Kirsten Vangsness. With several of them being replaced by Paget Brewster, Joe Mantegna, Rachel Nichols, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, Damon Gupton, and Daniel Henney.

The series follows a group of criminal profilers who work for the FBI as members of its Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), using behavioral analysis and profiling to investigate crimes and find the unsub (unknown subject), the team’s nickname for perpetrators. The show tells the story of the team as they work on various cases and tackle their personal struggles.
