Dune Is Now Available To Stream On HBO Max Until November 21

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is finally here after being pushed back by several pandemic induced months, and there are a variety of ways that you can enjoy it.

The film had its theatrical debut on October 22, 2021, along with US-based HBO Max subscribers getting a simultaneous streaming release.

Dune will stream for a month until November 21 on HBO Max. However, as Villeneuve wasn’t a fan of this decision, the director is urging audiences to go experience the film in theaters.

You can buy tickets for Dune via Fandango and select from showtimes for IMAX, 3D, or standard viewing in advance.

Going to a theater is definitely a better choice as the film is a very cinematic experience. However, if that’s not an option for you, you can experience it on HBO Max without having to leave the comfort of your couch.

Paul Atreides

Dune comes under Warner Bros.’s strategy to release their whole 2021 film slate on HBO Max for 31 days after they premiere. This includes The Suicide Squad and The Matrix 4.

The film is currently available to stream at no extra cost on HBO Max. To stream it, you need to sign up for an HBO Max ad-free plan, which costs $14.99/month.

If you’re a fan of David Lynch’s 1984 version of Dune, with an HBO Max subscription, you can stream that one as well. Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 is also available on the platform.

Adapted from Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi epic of the same name, Dune follows Paul Atreides, “a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.”

Paul’s journey begins there as his family is assigned the task of overseeing the harvest of the Spice Melange on a desert planet, Arrakis. Better known as the Spice, the narcotic has the power to extend human life and enhance human abilities while also making travels through space possible.

The cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Chang Chen, and Javier Bardem, among others.
