Is Kate Bishop Hawkeye’s Daughter?

Seems like we’re ready for yet another Marvel x Disney Plus series and this time it’s all about Hawkeye.

I am pretty excited to know the archer superhero aka Hawkeye but guess what? Things just got more interesting because along with Hawkeye, Kate Bishop is all set to play an important role in the series as well.

Played by Hailee Steinfield, Kate Bishop legit grabbed my attention in the latest trailer of Hawkeye that dropped on September 13, 2021.

There was this particular scene in Avengers: Infinity War where Hawkeye aka Clint Barton was teaching his daughter how to use the bow and arrow. Is Kate Bishop the same person? Is she Clint’s daughter?

Actually, Kate Bishop is not Hawkeye’s daughter. Though both Hawkeye’s daughter and Kate learn archery and use the bow and arrow, they aren’t the same person. Clint’s daughter is called Lila Barton.

If you too can’t stop thinking about Kate’s role and who exactly she is, you’re at the right place. Here’s everything we gathered about Kate Bishop and how she is related to Hawkeye.

Is Kate Bishop Hawkeye’s Daughter?

Is Kate Bishop Hawkeye’s daughter?
Kate Bishop

Kate is not related to Hawkeye biologically in anyway. Infact, there is no direct connection at all between the two in the Marvel comics, except that they share the same name for some strange reason.

The girl we see in Infinity War, who was learning archery from Clint was his own daughter, Lila. Kate Bishop did not appear in the film and she isn’t even at the picture.

She is, in fact, being introduced into the MCU through this upcoming Marvel series, Hawkeye.

Kate Bishop is one of the young Avengers, and she also uses the bow and arrow like Lila Barton. But Lila is not an Avenger as of now.

She could very well become an Avenger one day, but that’s a long journey as of now. So bottom line is that Kate Bishop and Hawkeye’s daughter Lila Barton are two different people.

For those who have not read the Hawkeye comics, she is a fresh new character entering the MCU. And trust me, there’s a lot to look forward to.

Who Is Kate Bishop?

The name Kate Bishop will sound new to you, like it did to me, if you’ve not read the Hawkeye comics.

Her character was created in 2005, when she made her first appearance in the Marvel comic Young Avengers. As the comics go, Kate is a wealthy teen who began her training in martial arts after she was attacked at Central Park.

Eventually, Kate joined the Young Avengers and became the third superhero and first female to take up the Hawkeye name, after Clint Barton and Wyatt McDonald. Pretty cool, huh?

Like Clint, Kate does not have any supernatural abilities. She is however, a very skilled archer and is extremely strong, quick and intelligent. Basically like all superheroes are meant to be.

Is Kate Bishop The New Hawkeye?

In the comics, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop share the same name or “title” of Hawkeye. But the two are not directly connected or related.

In fact, Clint is dead when Kate is introduced in the comics. But when Clint returns, Kate is referred to as Hawkguy to avoid confusion.

In the Disney Plus series Hawkeye, Kate is introduced while Clint is still alive. So I am eager to know how she will be referred to. I mean, if at all the series follows the same storyline and Kate and Clint share the same name “Hawkeye”.

Let’s wait and watch what the MCU has in store for us this time. After the smashing hit that was Loki, we all have our hopes pretty high!
