So far, Superman & Lois has revealed that the Super family will go through domestic problems in Season 2. Showrunner Todd Helbing says to look out for a villain or two as well!
Who will take Tal-Rho’s place as Season 2’s antagonist? It was earlier believed that Ian Bohen’s Lt. Mitch Anderson would be Superman’s main foe. But could he simply be a red herring or a character with good but misplaced interests?
According to Helbing in an interview with Games Radar’s SFX Magazine, the family may have to face a slew of villains. While the villains will affect both the parents, there will be one each who will target Clark and Lois separately.
Helbing says if he talks about it more, the audience will figure out who the villain is. He leaves us a clue:

Now, this seems like a sentence of no consequence, but there’s a reason why the showrunner has made a cheeky reference to “headache.” In fact, the official Season 2 trailer features quite a few instances of Clark suffering from debilitating headaches to the extent that it incapacitates him.
This narrows down our villain options to those with psychic abilities. Fans have two possible names in mind: Manchester Black and Dominus.
While Manchester Black has multiple telekinetic and telepathic powers, Dominus is known for telepathy and reality altercation, where he could turn Superman’s nightmares and fears into reality.
We don’t get much of a tease about which villain will be targeting Lois. But Helbing does state that one villain will outshine the others while also clarifying that the villains are not working together, but each of their ploys will seamlessly put the Super family’s lives in more danger.
On a slightly more positive note, the showrunner also confirms that Clark will be getting back into reporting!
So along with being a superhero, father, football coach, farmer… and now, a reporter, Clark’s resume is shaping up to be quite well-rounded. I just hope he can add “defeating a team of supervillains” to that list once again.
Superman & Lois will debut with Season 2 on January 11.
