Ted Lasso Season 3 to Begin Filming in January 2022

Ted Lasso fans, rejoice! Work on Season 3 is moving at lightning speed, and filming will supposedly begin in January next year.

Season 1 premiered in 2020, and Season 2 followed in 2021, without a gap year, so why would Season 3 be any different?

The news came from none other than Jamie Tartt actor Phil Dunster himself. Dunster told Variety that the third season of Ted Lasso will begin filming on January 31, 2022.

Dunster and his Ted Lasso co-star Juno Temple were present at Neiman Marcus’ holiday campaign event. Variety’s Marc Malkin asked the actor about the plot details to which he replied,

Honestly, I’m not trying to be coy, but I don’t know anything. I think they like to keep it fresh. But also, Jason [Sudeikis] knows what the story arc is. He sprinkles ideas of what’s going to come here and there, but there’s nothing really specific. They’re in the writers’ room now, and we’ll see what happens.

Plans for a fourth season depend on Sudeikis, but unfortunately, he was not present at the event, so reporters couldn’t exactly ‘grill’ him for more information. But hey, at least we have another season to look forward to next year.

Ted Lasso Season 3 does not have a release date yet but based on the filming dates and past seasons’ premiere dates, we can expect it to drop sometime in late 2022.

For those select few who might be unaware of the show’s premise, it follows Ted Lasso, an American football coach who gets hired to coach an English Premier League team… and spoiler alert, British football isn’t quite similar to American football.

The first two seasons of Ted Lasso are available on Apple TV+. If you haven’t watched it yet, check it out; if you have watched it, binge it again!

Ted Lasso is an American sports-comedy streaming TV series developed by Bill Lawrence, Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt. It’s based on a character of the same name that Sudeikis first portrayed in a series of promos for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Premier League.

It follows the life of Ted Lasso, a coach of college-level American football who is unexpectedly recruited to coach an English Premier League team, AFC Richmond, despite having no experience at all in association football.

It stars Sudeikis as the titular character, Ted Lasso, joined by Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and Sarah Niles among many others.
