Get yourself a party packet of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, because that’s what James Gunn says you’ll need while watching Peacemaker this Thursday, January 13!
Peacemaker will debut with its first three episodes on HBO Max this week. As usual, director Gunn is answering all types of fan queries, including what we should snack on while binging the show:
Given that the show has teased flaming hot action and Peacemaker’s own enthusiasm for all things explosive, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos would certainly make for a great accompaniment while watching the show.
Most fans agree with this choice of snack (who wouldn’t, when it comes to Cheetos?!) but a few also suggest trying out the Lime or Cheddar Jalapeno flavors. My advice: whatever floats your boat!
One would’ve expected Gunn to suggest empanadas after the fiasco on The Suicide Squad. Did you miss out on the backstory? Well, John Cena had to shoot a scene eating a whole empanada. But because the scene was shot 31 times, Cena had to wolf down 31 empanadas in a single session.
The running gag is that Gunn tried to gift Cena even more empanadas for his birthday! I wonder if this inside joke will once again feature on Peacemaker. For Cena’s health’s sake, I hope not!
Gunn’s Twitter is also filled with early reviews of Peacemaker that are extremely positive and have called the show outrageously funny, one that you cannot miss. All actors have been given their due credit, but Cena’s performance has been praised in particular:
The Suicide Squad may not have been a large commercial success, but it was still a hit for fans and critics alike. Now that Gunn has expanded on the douchey yet entertaining vigilante, Peacemaker could be just exactly the elevation that DC’s TV universe needs.
