Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang will be joining hands to tackle a very serious threat, but their alliance is sure going to leave us in splits!
The new season will have the two dojos working together, for which Johnny and Daniel exchange students so that they’re all well-versed in both the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang/Cobra Kai tactics.
The show has released two new promo clips for Season 4, which will premiere tomorrow, December 31. If the Karate Kid trilogy and three seasons of Cobra Kai haven’t chalked out how starkly different Johnny and Daniel are, these two clips certainly will.
In the first clip, Daniel takes over training the Eagle Fang kids. His Zen approach to karate leaves the kids confused and doubtful.
Daniels asks the students to fish but with the challenge of having to do it with their bare hands. (I take it back, this doesn’t sound very Zen!) But in a quest to win this challenge, the overenthusiastic Miguel ends up falling into the pool instead.
Now while drowning in a waist-deep pool is the extent of danger at Miyagi-Do, Johnny steps it up a thousand notches with his Eagle Fang methods.
Johnny reminds the Miyagi-Do students, who are now under his guidance, that they must win the All-Valley Tournament, lest Kreese and his corrupted Cobra Kai wreak havoc and take over the area.
Johnny’s methods have never been safe—in Season 2, Johnny trained his students inside a cement mixer. In Season 4, he instructed them to jump from one rooftop to another with no prior training or safety harness.
Don’t lie, you too laughed a little when Johnny shrugged off the kids’ concerns about falling and missing the safety blanket of the mattress.
Johnny and Daniel won’t be the only ones taking a page out of each other’s books.
As seen in the Season 4 trailer, Robby will be training Cobra Kai to ace Daniel’s methods too, so as to exploit Miyagi-Do’s weaknesses.
With the web of friendship, love, loyalty, and family all entangled, there’s a lot at stake in Cobra Kai Season 4. Oh, and of course, there’s an All-Valley Tournament to win, too.
