Jumanji 4 To Happen Without a Doubt, According to Kevin Hart

Actor Kevin Hart has revealed that Jumanji 4 will be happening. The beloved fantasy adventure series that began in 1995 starring the late Robin Williams followed his character who was stuck inside a supernatural board game since he was a boy and is later brought back.

Now following his role in the sequels Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level, Hart said that a fourth film in the series too is in the works.

In a recent interview with Collider, the comedian noted that the movie would come down to the timing of the other actors who currently are involved in other projects but remain committed to returning for another film.

Read his statement below:

“…We have no interest in walking away. It’s about the timing. Dwayne, myself… I’m doing a movie with Jack Black right now, Borderlands. I’m in Budapest. We’ve all kind of taken on some other projects, so I think when things slow down for us and our commitments are out the way, we’re definitely going to revisit another one because there’s no reason not to…”

The Next Level helped set up a few things to explore in a fourth movie, as well as the twist regarding villain Jurgen the Brutal (Rory McCann).

Although the movie ended with his death, Johnson later confirmed in a social media post that Jurgen is an actual avatar in the game which means someone is playing him. Thus the fourth movie could reveal who that mysterious person is.

Next Level’s credits scene also showed the video game traversing into the real world, hinting that the upcoming installment could take place in the real world much like the original film.

However, there are a few things working against its development, including the COVID pandemic, which also suspended the cast’s other projects.

Johnson’s Netflix movie Red Notice halted production last year, and the former pro-wrestler is currently working on his long-awaited DCEU solo, Black Adam.

Furthermore, as Hart mentioned in his statement, he is also working with co-star Jack Black on the renowned video game series Borderlands’ film adaptation.

Though Hart’s reassurance then spells good news for fans, it seems it will be a while until Jumanji 4 begins production.
