First Footage from Jurassic World: Dominion Teases Dinosaur Origins

The first look from Jurassic World: Dominion has been shared by the movie’s director Colin Trevorrow ahead of the exclusive preview’s release on IMAX. The upcoming film is rumored to be the final in the Jurassic World trilogy and will wrap up the famous dino-franchise for now.

Earlier this month, Universal Pictures revealed an extended preview would be shown ahead of the screenings of the company’s other major production, F9. Although Trevorrow stated previously that the footage would not be officially released online, he has now shared a clip from the preview.

The 15-second long teaser shows the various species of dinosaurs to be featured in the movie, including the Ankylosaurus and the feathered dinosaurs depicted in earlier images. The final glimpse, though, steals the cake as it sees two dinosaurs go head to head with each other before the screen cuts to black.

Regardless of its brief runtime, the short footage does an excellent job of hyping the official preview’s release. The aftermath of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom saw the dinosaurs escape from Lockwood’s estate and go into the world, followed by Ian Malcolm’s announcement of a Neo-Jurassic age where humans and dinosaurs must somehow co-exist.

But so far, Dominion’s marketing is holding off from showing any footage of the prehistoric beasts roaming the modern world. The clip also shows a new species of dinosaur never seen before in the franchise and dates back to the Cretaceous period, along with many others that will be introduced in the film.

However, fret not; this clip is only a glimpse from the full extended preview, which features plenty of other outtakes, including one of a Tyrannosaurus Rex attacking a drive-in cinema. Along with the other new additions, the dinosaurs will likely play a significant role in Dominion and also set the table for returning characters like Drs. Alan Grant, Ellie Satler, and Ian Malcolm to study them.

Nevertheless, how exactly the dinosaurs will be factored into the modern-day scenario remains uncertain. Still, one thing’s for sure, Jurassic World: Dominion will up the danger on the human race with dinosaurs running amok.
