New Images Reveal Giga and Other Dinosaurs from Jurassic World Dominion

Jurassic World Dominion, the final installment that’ll wrap up the current Jurassic trilogy, is all set to go back to the beginning and serve fans with a big dose of nostalgia.

The highlight of the film is the reunion of the OG trio—Sam Neill’s Alan Grant, Laura Dern’s Ellie Sattler, and Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm—from the Jurassic Park era returning to wrap it all up.

However, the nostalgic element wouldn’t feel complete without some up-close interaction with the dinosaurs. Ahead of the film’s June release, Empire has released some exclusive images teasing the trio’s return.

As a paleontologist in the original film, it’s a given that Sattler will have close encounters with the dinosaurs, with the first being a baby Nasutoceratops.

With the animatronic dinosaurs returning to the film, Dern was set on wanting her character to tend to the creature to get a more hands-on experience, “I may have begged at one point to participate in the slime-brushing, the slime-managing…”

The film’s ambitions are as big as the star of the film, the Giganotosaurus. Another image revealed Giga, who definitely checks all the boxes of Jurassic’s disastrous moto, ‘Bigger. Scarier. More teeth.’

While speaking of Dominion’s Giga, director Colin Trevorrow said that he drew inspiration from the Joker, “I wanted something that felt like the Joker. It just wants to watch the world burn.”

Giga won’t simply be a hybrid like Indominus or Indoraptor, but a “scientifically-documented giant of the Late Cretaceous period” with many scales. Giga comes from BioSyn Valley, the rival company to InGen in the original films.

Trevorrow teased that not everything is as it seems at BioSyn, definitely hinting at some suspicious activity. The director also promised the film to be unique: “It’s an entirely new kind of movie. It’s the thing I’ve been waiting to do this whole time.”

While talking about having to convince the trio to return decades later, Trevorrow added,

“At the beginning of that, [Neill] probably was looking at me with a certain amount of skepticism and side-eye. I’m not Steven Spielberg. I never will be. And so I really had to start from scratch in convincing these people that I was going to be able to guide them through the return to these characters that mean so much to them.”

As Trevorrow has managed to convince all three actors to return for the final adventure, fans will definitely have high expectations for the film to go all out.

Jurassic World Dominion comes out in cinemas in the US on June 10.
