Keanu Reeves Meets Kevin Feige, but No MCU Role in Sight Yet

Keanu Reeves has confirmed meeting Marvel’s creative, Kevin Feige, for a potential role in the MCU. However, no decisions have been made yet.

(But I am yet to trust any actor’s word on all-things Marvel, given Andrew Garfield and Charlie Cox’s Oscar-worthy denials.)

Reeves spoke about his potential Marvel involvement during an interview with Comicbook, alongside The Matrix co-star Carrie-Anne Moss. In fact, Moss herself is already part of Marvel thanks to playing Jeri Hogarth in Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Defenders.

About joining Moss in this widely coveted universe, Reeves says:

We have met, and [Kevin Feige]’s a cool cat. Yeah. But no, we don’t have anything, gotta find something.

In 2019, Comicbook had asked Feige about having Reeves on board. Feige had replied, saying he had already approached the actor for several MCU movies, but it was all about finding the right role.

Reeves’ response makes me believe that the two are discussing the matter in earnest.

Actually, this is the second time that Reeves has confirmed the news. Only this November, Reeves had expressed an interest in being part of the MCU, praising all its impressive creative team.

What role would Reeves play in the MCU? Fans were hoping to see him as either Moon Knight or Mister Sinister. The former is now being played by Oscar Isaac, scheduled for Disney in 2022.

Mister Sinister, on the other hand, is more so associated with the X-Men. So, if Marvel’s reboot of X-Men is indeed in the works, this role is still up for grabs.

The Matrix Resurrections – Official Trailer 1

I’m sure, once Marvel finds a fitting role for Reeves, Feige will move heaven and Earth to ensure the world-class actor in the part of the MCU.

If you need Reeves in other “superhero” roles before he makes his MCU debut, I’d suggest watching DC’s Constantine, The Matrix, and John Wick. He is also part of the voice cast for DC’s League of Superpets’ in an undisclosed role.

Lastly, the newest chapter of The Matrix: Resurrections comes out on December 22, in cinemas and on HBO Max.

About The Matrix: Resurrections

The Matrix: Resurrections will serve as the fourth instalment to the American cyberpunk franchise The Matrix. It is produced, co-written and co-directed by Lana Wachowski who has written for the previous Matrix movies as well.

Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss will reprise their roles of Neo and Trinity, respectively. Joining them is Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson.
