Kevin causes a citywide blackout after irresponsibly handling some fireworks. He takes the gang to Sam’s restaurant and accidentally discovers that Sam had been living there. He gives Sam some terrible marriage advice, causing Sam to realize the two of them may not be so different after all.
Allison is visibly upset because of the coverage of her in the newspaper and almost breaks down while looking for Gertrude’s death certificate in City Hall. Tammy tells her she’s decided to move in with Patty.

Allison manages to obtain the death certificate thanks to the blackout disarming the alarm systems at City Hall. However, it seems that she’s starting to have some doubts about her plan.
Sam will help Allison with the next phase of her plan and it’s likely that the two of them will start up their affair again. Additionally, it’s likely that someone will find out about Diane and Niel’s affair as well.
Things between Patty and Tammy will continue to be tense as moving in together may not be the best solution to their problems. Tammy might also confront Patty about the security footage at some point.

Kevin reads the article about him in the local newspaper and is annoyed that Allison’s high school swimming career got an entire paragraph’s worth of coverage. He comes up with a new plan to get more media coverage solely dedicated to him.
Meanwhile, Patty confronts Tammy for avoiding her since her birthday. Tammy tries to brush it off but later invites Patty in and asks if she’d like to move in with her. Patty gets overwhelmed by the question and rushes out.
Allison goes over to Sam’s to make sure he doesn’t tell anyone about her plan. He reassures her that he won’t. Just then, a citywide blackout occurs.
Patty and Allison head to the salon to pick up cash to pay off Sam’s contact for the death certificate. As it turns out, the contact is an ex-employee who just gives them the office keys and asks them to break in themselves.
