Kevin Feige Agrees No One Can Replace Charlie Cox as MCU’s Daredevil

No one can play the Man Without Fear, aka Daredevil, better than Charlie Cox, and Marvel boss Kevin Feige seems to agree.

Fans felt cheated when Netflix’s Daredevil was abruptly canceled, despite being considered one of MCU’s top-tier shows.

The hype around the character has been gaining a lot of momentum ever since it was rumored that Cox could return to the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Although the actor had previously denied these rumors, screenwriter David Hayter talking about a Daredevil reboot at Marvel, only to backtrack on his words later, did nothing but fuel the fire even more.

However, if Feige himself confirms something, chances are that project is already a done deal. Talking to CinemaBlend, when asked about Cox’s entry to the MCU as Matt Murdock, Feige said:

If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.

Of course, as Marvel usually keeps mum about projects until they’re ready for promotion, Feige did not reveal the specifics about the character’s future.

Despite no solid conformation, the latest Disney+ show Hawkeye introduced the character of Echo, who is connected to Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin. And if you’re a Daredevil fan, chances are you might not have missed this Easter egg.

Although actor Vincent D’Onofrio jokingly denied his involvement via a tweet, you bet we’d still be watching out for a possible cameo by Fisk in the upcoming episodes of Hawkeye.

There are a million ways Marvel could bring back Matt Murdock. Besides No Way Home, if they wanted to focus on the character’s role as a brilliant attorney, he could (also rumored) appear in the upcoming Disney+ show She-Hulk.

There have also been speculations of Harry Styles’ Eros appearing in She-Hulk, so for now, all of these can be considered as an “all smoke, no fire” type of thing.

Another popular character fans hope would make his entry into the MCU alongside Daredevil is The Punisher, aka Frank Castle.

Actor Jon Bernthal recently told THR that he wouldn’t want to give up the darker aspects of the character to fit it into Marvel/Disney’s PG-13 mold,

It needs to be a level of darkness… So like I said before, it’s not about whether you do the character; it’s about whether you can do it right, and I’m only interested in doing it right.
