All of us are sure looking forward to Disney Plus’ Christmas-y Hawkeye. But many are eagerly awaiting the in-universe Captain America musical that was teased in the Hawkeye trailer.

The Captain America musical sees multiple theater actors reenact the Battle of New York scene. Series director Rhys Thomas revealed that the musical was “an innocent suggestion” but Feige loved the idea and went along with it.

Feige explained that the Christmas Clint and family were going to celebrate looked like any other generic celebration. The superhero is just an ordinary father having some fun time with the kids.

It seems like the idea was stuck in his mind for long but what gave it a push was meeting composer Marc Shaiman.

Which is [the idea of a musical]. Which is true, but I loved the idea, and it gave a reason, there was always- it was a bit of a generic Christmas in New York. Clint taking the kids. It was a daddy weekend before Christmas. And I had met the amazing composer Marc Shaiman at an event a few-this is very, like, the most socia- I’m not a social guy. So, to even say, I met him at an event- It was, like, one of the three events I’ve been to in the last ten years. And thought he would, and his husband is a giant Marvel fan.

Feige also shared that Thomson’s context gave rise to an organic story of why Clint and family were celebrating Christmas in New York. Moreover, it allowed him to work with Shaiman.

So, when Rhys said that it gave us context for the opening episode, context for why Clint is in New York, context for Clint seeing himself in the way the world sees Hawkeye. And gave us an opportunity to have an amazing song by Marc Shaiman.

Through the musical, Clint will see how the world thinks about him and believes in him. The arrowed-superhero’s mighty influence may also be one of the major reasons for him mentoring Kate Bishop (Haille Steinfield) to his best.

Fans will get to watch Rogers: The Musical in the first episode of Hawkeye, premiering on November 24 on Disney Plus.
