We finally have Ghostface returning to our screens in Scream’s fifth instalment an entire decade later. The new directors, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have taken the baton and have kept the upcoming movie pretty simple – it’s only titled ‘Scream.’
The official Twitter for the Scream movie released a new poster which is as simple as the title. The team’s going to great lengths not to reveal anything about the film, but the teaser has ended up giving a significant clue about the next villain.
David Arquette, known for his role of Deputy Dewey Riley, shared the poster on his Twitter account too.
The poster shows a close-up of the iconic Ghostface with his signature knife. The tagline states, “It’s always someone you know,” implying that this movie’s killer is also going to be someone who the film might have already introduced.

As expected, fans are all over the Scream Twitter account, wanting them to drop the trailer immediately.
Some have even shown they have been fans from the very start by dropping in Sidney and Kirby edits, making theories, and more.
They have majorly shown their dislike towards the simple title of the movie, saying it doesn’t do justice and just adds up confusion.
While fans demanded the company drop its trailer in Twitter replies, another fan who attended the 25th Scream anniversary informed that the trailer would be out on Tuesday, October 12.
On a side note, another fan revealed that the Spanish trailer for Scream has already been leaked, and it “looks incredible.”
The 2022 Scream is a direct sequel to Scream 4, released in 2011. After the series director Wes Craven gave an iconic Scream 4, the new directors have a high bar of expectations to clear.
David Arquette returns to reprise his famous role of Deputy Dewey Riley on the Scream franchise.
It will also see the return of actors essaying their prominent roles, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding, and Mikey Madison, among others.
Scream will release exclusively on January 14, 2021, in theaters.
