Did you watch Loki’s latest episode? Unfortunately, it’s been over 24 hours since I’ve watched the episode, and I still haven’t recovered from the misery of watching Agent Mobius and Loki get pruned. Not cool, Renslayer.
But then came the superhero of a post-credit scene. In the scene at 44:38, Loki wakes up at a god-knows-what place and is approached by other “Lokis” who subtly confirmed that our Loki isn’t dead but might as well be if he did not follow them.
But then, Let’s be honest. Even if the episode didn’t have a post-credit scene, I wouldn’t have believed that Loki had died. I mean, if there was no Loki in the show ‘Loki,’ what are we even watching it for? I was almost sure that Loki would somehow miraculously spring back to life.
The post-credit scene only helped me with my reasoning. Then it got me thinking, “Wait if Loki didn’t really die (he most likely got teleported to some other dimension), then does that mean that even Mobius is alive somewhere too?
From the context of the post-credit scene in episode four, It is safe to say that you don’t really die and get teleported to a dimension outside of TVA’s domain instead. Agent Mobius is also probably alive like Loki is, and now all that’s left to do is for Loki to find Mobius and save him.
And I swear to God if Mobius doesn’t come back with his Jetski—
Well, there’s not much I can do about it. But let’s just hope for my sanity that they bring Mobius back. Read ahead to get a more detailed perspective.
1. But Is Agent Mobius Really Dead?
After Loki and Sylvie got caught (read: saved) at Lamentis just moments before the end of the world, TVA took them in, and Loki and Mobius were reunited. Yay!
Mobius takes Loki in to interrogate him about what the hell he did that caused such a nexus event in the timeline. I will not spoil what they talked about (as if there aren’t spoilers enough), but then Loki tells Mobius that TVA is lying to everyone. And therein that moment, Mobius froze in place for a tiny second.
That moment of hesitation did not get unnoticed by my x-ray eyes, of course. I can bet that this moment was enough to plant a seed of doubt in Mobius’ mind. He then went on a rebel mode and stole Renslayer’s TemPad to get answers about Hunter B-20, who Sylvie had enchanted.
When he finds out that Loki was telling him the truth all along, he went to him in hopes of getting his help to escape where ever it is that he wanted to go.
But the plot armor wasn’t thick enough for Mobius. So he gets pruned on Renslayer’s orders, faster than he could utter ‘Jetski.’
I know. I’ve stalled you long enough. To answer your question, No. Mobius isn’t really dead. He just got teleported to some other dimension that TVA is unaware of, or it is out of their domain. The latter seems likely. Mobius probably also got offered to follow or die, Like Loki was, from the post-credit scene.
2. What Happens After You’re Pruned?
Throughout the show, we see quite a few characters getting pruned, left and right. It seemed a little wicked to me to see such blatant disregard for human life that TVA had. But now that I know that the pruned people don’t really die and are just sent to some other dimension, I can be at peace.
In the post-credit scene at 44:38, Loki wakes up in a mysterious, unknown place and is ambushed by a bunch of other Lokis who threatens our Loki to follow them or die. To me, it seems that whatever this place is, it is left unchecked by the TVA. And I think that it is possible to escape it, courtesy of the plot armor that Loki has from being the lead character.
In conclusion, after getting pruned, people are sent to somewhere only God knows, and pruning doesn’t necessarily mean that the person is dead. So if you were to get pruned, don’t worry. It is more than likely that you can escape the place. Just follow Loki to know how it goes.
2.1 What Does Loki Waking Up At That Mysterious Place Mean?
At the 44:38 minute of the episode, a post-credit scene plays, where Loki wakes up after getting pruned by Renslayer, right in front of Sylvie. But what does it mean that Loki is at that place?
The answer is simple. All the pruned people also likely ended up with the same fate as Loki. Everyone is alive like he is and also has a fair chance at escaping the unknown. It also means that Mobius is alive and kicking too, and all that’s left is for Loki to find him and escape, and maybe get revenge against TVA for the bullshit that they have put him through. I am totally rooting for Loki and Mobius reuniting.
3. Will Agent Mobius Return?
It is established that Agent Mobius is alive. But I’m not sure if he will make a come back at the show. Don’t get me wrong. I can kill for Mobius to be back. And I don’t see why he can’t be back. But I just don’t wanna get my hopes up. I would rather be surprised than be disappointed.
But on a serious note, I honestly don’t see why they won’t bring him back. We might even get to see him on a jetski (please don’t blame me). And I think he will only add to the plot. So let’s just wait for the next episode and see what happens.
