Tom Hiddleston teases that Loki will analyze the meaning of his iconic horns in the upcoming MCU show Loki.
Having portrayed Loki since 2011’s Thor, few individuals know the character better than Tom Hiddleston. From the very beginning, Hiddleston was there with the production, writers, directors, and the team when they would go through the history of Thor.
Due to this, it is undeniable that Hiddleston is an excellent source of information about the character for creating a Loki-centered series. It was even the focus of the latest featurette where they revealed that they were called the Loki Lectures.
Besides his issue, like the dramatic character arc, Hiddleston also said that there were few conversations during the preparation of the film about Loki’s costumes and his fighting style.
The makers wanted to understand better the skills before presenting them in front of the camera. During this conversation, Hiddleston mentioned a hint that has been focused on the show, and that was Loki’s headpiece.
People wanted to know about the horns. I do remember that. There was a question of when does Loki wear the horns? Why does he wear them? Is it a ceremonial thing, or are they somehow an extension of some emotional intention? Is he particularly malevolent at those times? It was interesting to be asked these questions from outside, I guess, from outside this experience. All will become clear in time.Tom Hiddleston
Throughout Loki’s history, the mentioned headpiece is an Asgardian symbol for the sorcery he wields. It would be fair to think that it serves a ceremonial element, conferring to his figure some extra authority and power.
We might probably see him work to regain the status he once held, making his way into an enormous headpiece as he reacquires his title of God of Mischief by the end of the series.
Loki is an American TV series created by Michael Waldron for Disney+ and Marvel. It is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with events of the series taking place after Avengers: Endgame.
Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki along side new faces like Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, Eugene Cordero and Erika Coleman.
After stealing the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, Loki is apprehended by the mysterious Time Variance Authority (TVA) and their Time-Keepers. Loki is given a choice between fixing all the timelines he broke with the Tesseract and death at the hands of the TVA.
