Mary Reacts Strongly to Georgie’s Pregnancy News in Young Sheldon Clip

Ahead of the episode that’ll possibly explode the news of Mandy and Georgie’s pregnancy over everyone, CBS has already revealed Mary’s reaction… and it isn’t the calmest one.

The promo clip for Young Sheldon S05E19, A God-Fearin’ Baptist and a Hot Trophy Husband, shows Mary absolutely losing it and freaking out when her son reveals he got his ex-girlfriend, Mandy, pregnant.

True to her character, Mary first freaks out about Mandy’s age, followed by Georgie confessing about lying about his age. She then suggests that the two get married.

In one of the previous clips, Mary reflects on her own first pregnancy, telling Meemaw that she finally understands how she must have felt all those years ago.

Sheldon and Missy are kept in the dark about the pregnancy for now. As series co-creator Steve Molaro has previously stated, abortion is out of the question for their storyline, so Georgie’s siblings are bound to find out about it sooner or later.

Another promo also shows the Coopers inviting Mandy over for dinner. She seems to reject the idea of marrying Georgie, adding that she’s already giving birth to a baby and doesn’t intend on marrying one, too. (ouch.)

George Jr. is far from offended, though, as he boasts that he can be a “Hot Trophy Husband.” As fans already know that future Georgie ends up having two ex-wives, it’s entirely possible that Mandy ends up becoming his first.

George, however, is opposed to the idea when Mary instinctively suggests it. So, maybe this will stem into the season’s other big issue about George’s cheating scandal and how his and Mary’s relationship will finally reach its breaking point.

Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 19, A God-Fearin’ Baptist and a Hot Trophy Husband, airs on CBS on Thursday, April 21.
