Michael Douglas’ Condition for Returning to Ant-Man 4, If It Happens

Michael Douglas, who plays Hank Pym, has indicated that he would be willing to return for a possible fourth movie, but with an unexpected condition.

This news comes as Marvel Studios prepares for the upcoming release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Michael Douglas is a highly respected Hollywood veteran who first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015 with his portrayal of Hank Pym in Ant-Man.

If a fourth Ant-Man movie is indeed filmed, it seems likely that Douglas would reprise his role as Hank Pym, as he has already expressed ideas for the character’s storyline.

He gave a fascinating statement to THR when asked about his return in Ant-Man 4. He said he would return as long as he could die!

The actor has said that he will consider returning for Ant-Man 4, on the condition that the character of Hank Pym is killed off in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sequel.

While it would be a significant loss for the franchise to have the original Ant-Man removed from the story, we have had a foreshadowing of new heroes taking the stage for a long time.

How does Hank Pym fit into the Ant-Man 4 storyline?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Marvel fans, get ready for some exciting news! It looks like talks are already happening for a potential Ant-Man 4, according to Marvel Studios producer Stephen Broussard.

With the introduction of the new MCU villain Kang in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the stakes will be higher than ever before. This could mean a bright future for Hank Pym’s character, but what about Michael Douglas’ wish?

There has been much speculation about the possibility of Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, being killed off by Kang in the next film.

However, if Douglas is positioning Hank Pym for a dramatic end in Ant-Man 4, Scott Lang would need to survive for the franchise to continue with that name. In this scenario, the climactic ending could feature a heartfelt and fitting sacrifice from Hank Pym, passing on the title of Ant-Man to Scott Lang once and for all.

This sacrifice would align with the family themes that have been a hallmark of the Ant-Man franchise. However, there is another intriguing possibility for Hank Pym’s ending.

The What If…? animated series presented a dark multiverse story in which Hank Pym becomes a superhero murderer seeking revenge for his daughter’s death on a SHIELD mission. If Hope were to die fighting Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the MCU could choose to adopt a version of that story.

This could mean that Hank becomes the new Yellowjacket and meets his end in Ant-Man 4. The possibilities are endless, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this beloved franchise!
