The Gang Has ‘No Father, No Plan, No Hope’ In Money Heist S5 Trailer

Bella ciao… this time, it’s goodbye for real.

The trailer for La Casa De Papel aka Money Heist Season 5 is here, and I have a gut feeling everyone except for Tokyo is going to die. (WHY ELSE would we possibly have a narrator speaking so dramatically??? Remember Ted Mosby?)

The trailer has the gang locked in the Bank of Spain, with Tokyo narrating that the 100 hours spent shut in the Bank of Spain feeling like 100 years. (Tbh, that’s how it felt waiting for Season 5 too.)

Season 4 ended with inspector Alicia Sierra discovering The Professor and holding him at gunpoint. The trailer shows Professor all tied up, telling the gang that this may be the last time he’ll talk to them, indicating that henceforth they are on their own.

(Prediction: Marseille is going to save him somehow.)

On the other hand, Colonel Luis Tamayo is running out of patience as he reveals that he is sending in the army, no matter the cost. In the trailer, he is heard saying, “They’ll come out victorious, or they’ll come out dead.”

The gang is preparing to go all out as they are heavily armed for a war they know is coming. Lisbon fills in for the inspiration we usually get from El Profesor, “We’re up against the ropes, but we’re not gonna end up in the morgue.”

(You sure about that, Lisboa? I really hope you are.)

Tokyo continues her classic narration and says that they have “no father, no plan, no hope,” and no one knows where this is headed.

Berlin makes a brief cameo at the end, and he says, “With me, you’ll find authentic liberation, and if we ever have to pay a price for it, then we pay it.”

(Another Prediction: Tatiana will somehow connect everything in the end.)

There are blink-and-miss shots of new characters played by Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Patrick Criado. The trailer shows Criado’s character with Berlin and Silvestre’s character with Tokyo, and that’s about all we know regarding them.

There’s so much happening in the trailer that one can make a lot of theories and predictions. However, the HIGHLIGHT of the clip is when Tokyo knee-strikes Gandía… violence is not the answer and blah blah, but the satisfaction that Gandia getting hurt gives me is immeasurable.

(and yes, I’m aware it is a tad bit concerning).

Money Heist: Part 5 Vol. 1 | Official Trailer

Season 5 will be the end of the global hit series, with the season divided into two parts. Just like Lucifer did with its Season 5, however, the wait for La Casa De Papel will be short as the two parts will premiere just three months apart.

Netflix recently announced that Season 5, Volume 1, will premiere on September 3, followed by Volume 2 on December 3.

The official synopsis for Season 5 reads:

The gang has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They have managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment is upon them after losing one of their own. The Professor has been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, doesn’t have an escape plan.

Just when it seems like nothing else could go wrong, an enemy comes on the scene that is much more powerful than any they’ve faced: the army. The end of the greatest heist in history is approaching, and what began as a robbery will turn into a war.

Official Synopsis

La Casa De Papel / Money Heist Part 5 Volume 1 will premiere on Netflix on September 3, 2021.

About Money Heist

Money Heist (Spanish: La casa de papel, meaning “The House of Paper”) is a Spanish heist crime drama television series created by Álex Pina.

The series traces two long-prepared heists led by the Professor (Álvaro Morte), one on the Royal Mint of Spain, and one on the Bank of Spain. The narrative is told in a real-time-like fashion and relies on flashbacks, time-jumps, hidden character motivations, and an unreliable narrator for complexity.

The show focuses on the meticulous plans and the specific contingencies of the Professor who has prepared his group of robbers dressed in red jumpsuits and Dali masks.
