MCU to Get Its Own Fan Convention AvengerCon in Ms. Marvel

Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge event/element in modern pop culture and everyone knows about it, whether they’re die-hard fans or couldn’t care less about it.

It’s no small feat to create such a complex universe and the MCU itself is about to acknowledge this important cult status in its universe with the upcoming Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel.

It has already been established that The Avengers have a celebrity status for saving humanity from end-of-the-world events, with the most recent being the Avengers-based theatre play in Hawkeye.

However, Ms. Marvel is going to take it to a whole another level with a parody MCU Fan Convention in the series, titled AvengerCon, as teased in the series’ latest merch.

The new poster printed on throw blankets merch for the series is now available on Hot Topic, and it’ll make you wish you could enter an alternate universe to experience the event yourself.

The event, just like real-life conventions, has panels for different superheroes. The panels read:

  • GIGANTIC DUDE: ANT-MAN
  • CAPTAIN MARVEL: COSMIC AVENGER
  • THINGS HULK SMASHED!
  • HULK’S RAGE ROOM: SMASH YOUR ANGER AWAY
  • THE REALM OF ASGARD
  • THE HILLS OF ASGARD

The poster suggests the convention will take place in New Jersey in the series, also the hometown of Ms. Marvel, aka Kamala Khan.

Kamala will attend the convention as she looks up to the superheroes with the imagination of a child who dreams of endless possibilities of being one of them.

The trailer carefully planted such Easter eggs, with one example being Kamala’s Captain Marvel, Valkyrie, and Wasp t-shirt that also referenced Beyoncé with the print under it, “OK Ladies, Let’s Get Information.”

As if it wasn’t abundantly clear, Kamala, like every other teenager, will have icons and heroes she looks up to, and so it’s only fitting for her story to draw inspiration from said heroes.

Follow MCU’s first-ever Pakistani superhero on her coming-of-age journey when Ms. Marvel premieres on Disney+ on June 8.
