Ms. Marvel Star Reveals Other Characters’ Return In The Marvels

Kamala Khan is set to make her MCU debut with the Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel, which may or may not premiere later this year.

The series has already faced plenty of delays regarding its release date, and things still seem uncertain as Marvel Studios has kept mum about the details.

Although it is common knowledge that after her introductory series, Iman Vellani will return as teenage superhero Kamala Khan in the Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels. The film, slated for 2022, will see the return of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau (post her WandaVision transformation).

A new update suggests that other characters from the series will also make their big-screen debut alongside Kamala.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, actress Zenobia Shroff, who plays Kamala’s mother in the series, mentioned that her character will return with Kamala’s father and brother for the sequel.

Shroff posted a picture of The London Eye and, in her caption, thanked the cast and crew members, including Mohan Kapur and Saagar Shaikh, who play Kamala’s father and brother, respectively.

The Marvels is currently in production in London, whereas Ms. Marvel has already wrapped up filming and moved into post-production. And if this wasn’t an indication enough, Shroff mentioned Nia DaCosta, the director of The Marvels, with Larson, Parris, and Samuel Jackson.

If Kamala Khan’s parents appear in The Marvels, then it would make sense for the Ms. Marvel series to introduce all these characters, and their origin stories like WandaVision did for Monica Rambeau’s superpowers.

Ms. Marvel will follow the adventures of Kamala, a Muslim teenager who idolizes Captain Marvel and other Marvel heroes and uses her shapeshifting powers to fight crime in Jersey City.

While talking to ComicBook.com, Larson has said,

I feel like [Kamala is] the future. So when I’ve been asked about the future of the MCU or the future of the Captain Marvel series, I want to be with her.

The interesting question here is whether Samuel Jackson will recruit Ms. Marvel in the series like he did for the Avengers, or will Captain Marvel herself appear to take Kamala under her wing?

Ms. Marvel doesn’t have a confirmed debut date yet, but speculations suggest that the series will premiere on Disney+ in early 2022.

The Marvels is slated for a November 11, 2022, theatrical release.
