Natasha Romanoff Makes A Superhero Landing In New Black Widow Poster

Natasha Romanoff does her superhero landing in a new, illustrated poster for Black Widow. Scarlet Johansson’s highly-anticipated solo superhero film will debut in theaters in less than three weeks after being delayed for about a year. Now, with lesser pandemic-related delays, the release of Black Widow is closer than ever.

The Russian Assassin-turned-Avenger’s film was supposed to mark the beginning of Phase 4 of the MCU. However, Disney+ hit series, WandaVision, became the first project of Phase 4 when it premiered in January this year.Black Widow will be available in theaters as well as on Disney+ from July 9.

Ahead of its release, the official Black Widow account on Twitter posted a new poster, “the second in a series of posters inspired by Marvel Studios’ #BlackWidow.” The poster is an illustration made by @thedarkinker.

Natasha Romanoff meets her untimely death when she sacrifices herself on Vormir in Avengers: Endgame. Hence, Black Widow will follow Natasha between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. When Natasha is unable to return to the Avengers, she reunited with her family to take care of unfinished business, confronting her past, the Red Room and Taskmaster.

Natasha’s past hasn’t been explored in the MCU before this. Her Russian family consists of Yelena Belova, Melina Vostokoff, and Alexei Shostakov. Black Widow will definitely have an impact on the future of the MCU, as it will introduce Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). Pugh is confirmed to reprise her role in the MCU Disney+ series, Hawkeye.

The main villain of the film, Taskmaster, is a mercenary in the comics. He’s hired as a training instructor by various criminal organizations such as HYDRA and A.I.M. and has the uncanny ability to mimic the fighting moves of his opponents.

Fans need not worry about the film as about a week ago, first reactions were all over Twitter, reassuring that the film will not disappoint.

Much of Black Widow’s plot (and past) remains a mystery, though Marvel has been dropping clips every week to keep fans at the edge of their seats before they even get to the movie theatres.
