Lara Jean’s Sister Kitty Is Getting Her Own Spinoff Series At Netflix

Netflix has ordered a To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before spinoff show, titled XO, Kitty.

The new Y/A series is inspired by the insanely popular To All The Boys film franchise adapted from the New York Times best-selling book series by Jenny Han.

The series will follow Lara Jean’s younger sister, Kitty, who kickstarted her older sister’s love life when she posted her secret letters to her crushes in the first film. Anna Cathcart will return to portray the role of Kitty Song Covey in the series.

The official logline for ‘XO, Kitty’ released by Netflix reads:

Teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey thinks she knows everything there is to know about love. But when she moves halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, she’ll soon realize that relationships are a lot more complicated when it’s your own heart on the line.

Han is also set to create and executive produce the ten-episode dramedy, with the episodes being 30 minutes each. The pilot was co-written by Han and Siobhan Vivian, with Sascha Rothchild as co-showrunner.

Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment will also exec produce. Awesomeness Studios, the studio which produced the film trilogy, will also work on the series.

Netflix also dropped a short announcement teaser for the series on the streamer’s official Twitter account,

The first film in the To All The Boys franchise came out in 2018, followed by P.S. I Still Love You in 2020 and Always and Forever in 2021.

Netflix has not yet announced the release date for XO, Kitty.

About XO, Kitty

XO, Kitty is an upcoming YA spinoff series of the film franchise, To All The Boys. Netflix announced the series, from Awesomeness and ACE Entertainment. Jenny Han is the creator of the series and co-wrote the pilot with Siobhan Vivian.

Headlined by Anna Cathcart in the role of Kitty, who portrayed the character in the film franchise.
