Netflix has dropped another trailer for its new animated series Godzilla Singular Point. The series is set to premiere sometime in April, and the second trailer has teased much of what the series will cover. However, there is a surprising element in the new trailer—one that has taken many fans by surprise.
The series will revolve around researcher Mei Kamino and engineer Yun Arikawa, who are tasked with protecting the world as an unprecedented number of monsters arrive along with their companions.
Godzilla Singular Point is Netflix’s fourth kaiju project in recent times. It released Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle, and Godzilla: The Planet Eater in 2018. However, Singular Point is not related to these movies. It will feature an original story and a new cast, which includes Yume Miyamoto and Shōya Ishige.
The new trailer focuses more on the human relationships in the series, and surprisingly, Godzilla itself is missing from the footage. Instead, viewers get to see Jet Jaguar in action. The robot has a different look from the previous kaiju films—this one is more mechanical-looking and less intimidating.

Singular Point is directed by Atsushi Takahashi and is produced by anime studios Orange and Bones, both of which have produced animes like My Hero Academia and Beastars. The new series will combine hand-drawn styles and CG animation.
