“The Netflix Sweet Tooth TV show recently completed filming and will be released sometime this year!” Jeff wrote in his newsletter on January 4, 2021.

In July 2020, Lemire mentions how happy he was with the series’s pilot episode, which was being shot in New Zealand.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the adaptation. It’s super faithful to the comic and  I can’t wait for the show to launch,” the newsletter was titled, “New Sweet Tooth series and more.”

Sweet Tooth is produced by Warner Bros. TV and DC entertainment. Team Downey (Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey), Amanda Burell, Jim Mickle, and Beth Schwartz are the executive producers of the live-action series. Mickle and Schwartz also serve as showrunners.

The live-action series will run for eight episodes in its first season. It is centered around Gus, a half human-half Deer hybrid being, as he leaves his house, only to see that a cataclysmic event ravages the world outside his home.

Sweet Tooth will show us Gus’s journey as he joins a group of hybrid beings who are just like him, in search of answers about this new world. And, of course, to solve the mystery behind his hybrid origin.
