After a long hiatus, Netflix has finally revealed the first images of Ginny & Georgia Season 2.
Created by Sarah Lambert, the coming-of-age drama features the life of a semi-dysfunctional single mother, Georgia (Brianne Howey), and her daughter Ginny (Antonia Gentry).
The show follows the family after they move to the scenic town of Wellsbury. In Season 1, we saw Georgia trying her best to give her children a stable life after constantly moving places throughout their childhood.
After many delays, Netflix has finally come up with the first images of Ginny & Georgia Season 2. The wait was primarily because of the sudden pandemic onset right after the end of Season 1.
The photos tease Scott Peter’s return as Mayor Paul Randolph, Marcus Baker as Felix Mallard, and Chelsea Clark as Norah. Check out the photos here:
Fans have been waiting for Season 2 for a very long time, given that Season 1 ends in a massive cliffhanger. Private investigator Gabriel Cordova (Alex Mallari Jr.) finally unveils the reason for the death of Georgia’s ex-husband Kenny.
In the finale, Gabriel reveals everything to Ginny when Georgia is off celebrating her engagement with Randolph. Ginny gets to know that Georgia killed her ex-husband but is unaware of the sexual harassment she had to go through.
In a rage, she burns down the house and runs away with Austin, ruining her mother’s plan for a settled and happy life.
The unveiled photos of Season 2 suggest that Ginny will return to Wellsbury in Season 2. We also know that Smallville’s Aaron Ashmore has been cast as Austin’s dad and one of Georgia’s exes, Gil Timmins. It could mean they will take shelter in Gil’s house before returning to Wellsbury.
However, it is also possible that Ginny finds her real father, Zion and he takes the children in.
While we don’t know much about the plot of Season 2 till now, it is safe to assume that things will calm down and their lives will be somewhat back to normal.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s wedding is also on the cards. But there will be other pressing matters to worry about before the merrymaking can start. Georgia must also be truthful to her husband, which could make or break the upcoming wedding.
With the premiere in sight, a proper trailer for Season 2 shouldn’t be too far now. Only then will we have an idea of what to expect in the future.
