Swann Betrays Bond: New No Time To Die 9-Minute Footage

CinemaCon sees nine minutes of exclusive action from the much-anticipated No Time To Die. The film will finally be released on October 8.

The extra footage comes as a remedy for fans who have been waiting for the film since its initial release date of November 2019. While we’re not yet privy to releasing the actual footage from the con, we have you covered with an apt description:

There’s just been an explosion and Bond is on the ground, covered with dirt, a ringing in his ears. He is then chased by an unseen assailant who manages to fight off and corner. As the assailant breathes his last, he makes a mention of ‘Spectre’ (and we all know that’s not good!)

Swann Betrays Bond: New No Time To Die 9-Minute Footage
James Bond and Madeleine Swann

Bond believes that his paramour Madeleine Swann (role reprised by Léa Seydoux) sold him out. And although she denies it, Bond’s suspicions grow stronger when Swann receives a phone call bearing a Spectre logo on the caller ID. From the other end of the call, a voice says, “Your father would be so proud of you. Your sacrifice will be our glory.”

The rest of the footage shows the two in a car getting attacked by more assailants. Bond still wary of Swann’s plea of innocence, nonetheless saves both of them, using the weapons in his car to disarm the enemy and driving away. Cut to black.

Quite a few trailers have been released but most reuse the clips in an attempt to save the real twists for the movie. Bond who was five years into retirement has come back into service on a favor for a friend. His mission of rescuing the kidnapped scientist Valdo Obruchev will have him cross paths with Rami Malek’s villain, who is not shy of endangering the lives of millions for a little revenge.

NO TIME TO DIE | Bond is Back | Only in Cinemas October

The newly released clip teases the tension between Bond and Swann, that will fuel his operative mission. He will find new allies in the form of the new Double O agent, Nomi (Lashana Lynch) and CIA agent Paloma (Ana de Armas). But even with skilled agents on his side, who can he trust?

The 25th Bond movie in the entire series will be Daniel Craig’s swansong as the infamous 007. But hey, if the rumors are true, our new 00, Nomi will carry forth the legacy.

At the same screening at CinemaCon, MGM’s Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy were unwavering in their promise of sticking to an October release. After a world premiere in London and a little over a month to go, the film will finally see the light of day in US theatres.
