New ScreenX Poster Highlights Black Widow’s Classified Past

Black Widow is scheduled to be MCU Phase 4’s first feature film installment. After tons of pandemic-related delays, Black Widow will finally get its big-screen release on July 9.

Marvel has been dropping a myriad of new posters and teasers ahead of the film’s release next month.

Fans have been waiting for Black Widow’s release for more than a year now. As the release date inches closer, Collider released one such exclusive CJ 4DPLEX ScreenX poster featuring Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff.

The secrets that the new poster highlights could be a part of Black Widow’s past that was made public by her in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

ScreenX is the most visually advanced multi-screen theater experience.

It expands specially selected sequences of the film to the left and right walls of the theatre, creating a surrounding, immersive, and panoramic, 270-degree viewing experience. Black Widow will be released in 48 ScreenX locations in the US.

CJ 4DPLEX will also be releasing Black Widow in the multi-sensory 4DX experience in 41 locations in the US.

4DX allows audiences to connect with movies through motion, vibration, water, wind, snow, lightning, scents, and other special effects that enhance the visuals.

The film will be Natasha Romanoff’s goodbye to the MCU and will dive into Natasha’s past. It is set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.

The trailers have teased glimpses and flashbacks into Natasha’s past as a child and training in the Red Room. Before now, fans never really got a proper look into Natasha’s past as she was never the central figure of any of the MCU films.

This changes with Black Widow as it will a prequel solely dedicated to telling her story.

The film will introduce several key elements of her past, including new characters like Yelena Belova, Iron Maiden, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster.

The film is directed by Cate Shortland with story by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson and screenplay written by Eric Pearson.

Natasha’s exit could pave the way for Pugh’s Yelena to take over and be part of the new fresh faces that MCU plans to bring on for the franchise’s future.

In an interview with Total Film, when asked about her future at Marvel, Scarlett Johansson said,

“It’s definitely bittersweet because I love my Marvel family. I’m never going to be ready to not be a part of it. They’ll always be family. I’ll never feel ready to not be in it because I hate to feel like I’m missing out on stuff with them. And who knows? Maybe at some point, we’ll have some opportunity to collaborate in some other kind of way.”
