New Scream 6 Poster Flaunts Multiple Easter Eggs

The latest instalment of the Scream franchise is due in a little over three months, but Ghostface is already revealing his new year resolution to us! In a new poster for the upcoming slasher film, we see the outline of the famous killer’s mask, drawn with subway lines on a map, and some stops are eerily familiar.

The poster shared on Twitter by Scream’s official account shows five open train lines, with a sixth in construction, hinting at the previous five films and the upcoming sixth in the franchise. Upon these lines, we see many familiar faces, earlier victims of Ghostface and some even from the Stab film series, paying tribute to the entire franchise.

You can check out the new poster in the original tweet below:

Two names, stand different from the other “stops” on the train lines. One is, of course, Melissa Barrera’s Sam Carpenter, who escaped Ghostface in the last Scream film, along with her sister and the Meeks-Martin twins, to New York. The new Ghostface killer is targeting the previous survivor since her name is in all caps and a much larger font.

Another name we couldn’t help but notice was Hayden Panettiere’s Kirby Reed, whose station is closed with a red cross sign. While we don’t know the situation in which the Scream 4 character will reprise her role, but we are guessing Ghostface will kill Reed as a warning to the other survivors that none of his victims can escape him forever.

The new poster is a tribute to the entire franchise, with all the easter eggs. It also hints at what’s to come, and we love it! After Neve Campbell departed from the project and Dewey’s death, this was a good move to show that the connection to the OG slasher is not lost.

Scream 6 will release globally in theaters on March 10, 2023.
