Mabel, Charles and Oliver will have to work hard on clearing their names in Season 2, which was already early-renewed by Hulu.
Although they solved the murder of Tim Kono, the podcast squad annoyed quite a few people on the way: the cat neighbor, Sting, the Dimas, and of course, the snooty but now dead Bunny. In fact, most of their neighbors were not pleased by their nosy nature.
But there is something more vindictive about Bunny’s death — she was murdered by Mabel’s knitting needles, wearing the tie-dye hoody that Oliver was selling, and I can’t help but think Charles will be connected to it in some way or the other.
Whoever the murderer is, they sure did capitalize on the feud between Bunny and the trio.
Plus, as Mabel already put it, there are a few loose strings bothering us. (That is, other than who would kill Bunny and blame them).
For one, we still don’t know why the higher-ups at the law enforcement were covering up Tim’s murder by not examining his phone and canceling the tox report. Then, what was the shoveling noise that cat neighbor heard above his apartment?
Plus, fans also seem to think that the threat note on Jan’s door was planted by someone else! This means there are certainly others who did not want the truth about Tim Kono’s murder to come to light.
The show’s executive producer, John Hoffman, confirmed to Deadline that these and more will be explored in Season 2 as the trio rally for their innocence. The mystery is far from over.
Hoffman promises that while things will get real complicated in Arconia, there will only be one murder unraveled in Season 2. The essence of Only Murders is not just about who killed the victim but understanding who the victim was and using that to weave a larger story around Arconia’s residents.

No other concrete details have been revealed about Season 2, including addition cast, episode list or release date. But I can only hope that the incredible success of the show means that it will be back sooner than expected.
