Oscar Isaac Displays Moon Knight’s Brutal Moves in Training Video

Oscar Isaac displayed more of his fight training as Moon Knight in a new video. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige first confirmed the upcoming series in 2019, who also noted that the character would appear in future MCU films following his TV debut.

Now, in a new Instagram post by Mad Gene Media, Isaac’s production company has given an extra sneak peek at what’s in store for the series. Even though the video doesn’t reveal any details about the show itself, it does give a look at what Isaac is going through in the forms of training. Check out the Instagram post here:

Featured against “Killing the Name”, a track by rock band Rage Against the Machine, the latest clip highlights Moon Knight’s deadly fighting moves and Isaac’s intense training to prepare for the role. With only a few weeks to go before production begins on the series, Isaac sure seems ready to use his newly learned skills while in character.

Compared to the training video posted last month, the new clip boasts the use of weapons, especially knives, which Isaac brandishes masterfully. Marc Spector, a skilled combatant, is known to have mastered a range of weapons.

These include swords, batons, brass knuckles, chains, boomerangs, shurikens, and various firearms such as pistols, rifles, bazookas, missile launchers and many more. Thus, it would make sense that a standard weapon like a knife must be one of them.

Considering the multiple videos posted on the page, it is clear that Isaac is putting in his all for the upcoming role. Furthermore, if his training hits the mark, there is a good chance the series might include some long single-take fight sequences, which would make it stand apart from other MCU projects.

Currently Marvel’s fight sequences which seem to be getting better day-by-day are mostly edited and require many takes to get the right shot. In light of that, Isaac’s training seems satisfactory enough for epic single takes.

Moon Knight was announced as part of Marvel’s current Phase 4 and is expected to release sometime in 2022 on Disney+. The series will follow Marc Spector, aka. Moon Knight, a former mercenary who believes he was granted superpowers by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu.

The son of a Jewish-American rabbi, Spector almost met his death at the hands of a terrorist known as Bushman. Later with his newly gifted abilities from Khonshu, Spector defeats Bushman and dons the all-white costume which marks him as the Moon Knight.

To make things even more interesting, he is also considered insane. Initially it was believed that Marc suffered from dissociative identity disorder but later it was determined that his condition had developed due to becoming Khonshu’s avatar, who possessed multiple aspects.

Isaac was rumoured to be in negotiations for the role since October 2020, and he was confirmed in 2021. Even though Marvel is yet to confirm the news officially, the actor is doing well on his part to give fans teasers for the series.
