The studio hasn’t let out much information about the film itself. However, they’re hinting for the seventh edition of the Paranormal Activity franchise to be a “new, unexpected chapter” in the series. The movie will be directed by Will Eubank (who also directed Underwater), written by Christopher Landon. Jason Blum and Oren Peli (who directed the original Paranormal Activity) will act as co-producers.

In addition to Paranormal Activity 7, a new thriller named The In Between is set to debut on Paramount+. The movie revolves around a teenage girl who survives a car crash that kills her boyfriend. She starts to believe that her fallen love is trying to contact her from beyond the grave. The film will be directed by Arie Posin and features Joey King, Kyle Allen, John Ortiz, and Kim Dickens.

Reportedly, a prequel to the Pet Sematary remake is also scheduled to be released along with these. The film sees a family that discovers an animal graveyard behind their home in Maine. The movie is currently in development specifically for the streamer.

ViacomCBS certainly feels stressed to flex their collection of content, observing parallel moves from Disney and Warner Bros., who chose to instantly put out all the 2021 theatrical releases on HBO Max. Presently, there’s no timeline for when ViacomCBS will actually broadcast these movies, but according to reports, it might be some time during the next year.

Paramount+ is scheduled for an official launch on March 4.
