Perry Mason Season 2 Episode 4: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation

With only three weeks left to make a case strong enough to get his clients out from prison, Mason is burning the midnight oil while being burdened with his past. Della uncovers a connection between Camilla and Brooks, which leads to another string to pull at, and Mason takes it to McCutcheon Sr.

But the Gallardo brothers don’t seem as innocent as they claim to be. Even though Mason gets them protection in jail, they’re hiding key details of the case from him. For example, how Rafael’s fingerprint ended up on McCutcheon’s car and how they’d rented the murder weapon days before the act.

What new evidence will come to light in the next episode of Perry Mason?

1. Episode 4 Synopsis/Speculation

There’s no official synopsis or promo for the upcoming episode, but as usual, I have a few theories.

Camilla Nygaard was a rival of the oil scion, and while she has not shown any involvement, she did just point Mason to a piece in the puzzle that could pin her nemesis as the corrupt man he is. She has a larger role to play in this season of Perry Mason, and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds for her.

Noreen Lawson’s brother will be the key for revealing what the girl and her family went through because of Brooks McCutcheon. Her story will play well in court, proving that Brooks had a few skeletons worth hiding and, thus, enemies who’d want him dead.

Paul Drake’s latest discovery comes at the heels of small inconstancies in the Gallardo brothers’ story. The fact that they knew Brooks and came in contact with his car, and handled the murder weapon sometime before the act, only points to the fact that they aren’t as innocent as they claim.

Mason thus has to work double-time to get the true story out of his clients and find out who’s the real killer of Brooks McCutcheon. Meanwhile, Lydell’s threats bring a new (and powerful) problem to the table, and Perry Mason has to be careful with this case before he finds himself deep muddy waters.

Perry Mason, Paul Drake, and Della Street

After getting a three-week pre-trial period, Mason springs the Gallardo brothers protection in prison after glass was found in their breakfast. The paper in Brooks’ wallet leads Perry Mason to San Haven Home, and Camilla Nygaard hints at something unpleasant between Brooks and Noreen Lawson.

Mason visits the patient and finds a traumatized woman who’s probably there because of Brooks. He’ll have to find “V” for a lead on how Lawson and Brooks are tied and what went down between them. When he discloses her name to Lydell, McCutcheon’s unveiled a threat suggesting Mason is digging in the right place.

Meanwhile, Paul Drake uncovers damning new evidence against the Gallardo brothers. He fears prosecution will soon find out that Rafael and Mateo had rented the murder weapon days before the murder.

6. About Perry Mason (2020)

Perry Mason is an American period drama television series based on the character of the same name created by Erle Stanley Gardner. It focuses on the origin story of famed defense lawyer Perry Mason. The series was developed and written by Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald and stars Matthew Rhys in the title role.

Long before Perry Mason became the legendary lawyer that he was, he was a PTSD-ridden war vet struggling to find his place in the world. His first test as a lawyer was the gruesome killing of a child who was kidnapped and returned with his eyes sewn open. His next case is to reveal the true killer of Brooks McCutcheon.
