Peyton Reed Teases Prep for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’

Fans can look forward to plenty of Marvel movies in the near future because it looks like Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally kicking into gear. One of these superhero flicks is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third installment in the tiny Avenger’s film series.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed took to Twitter to share the first behind-the-scenes look at the MCU threequel alongside a confirmation that the film will use Disney series and Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian’s The Volume technology.

The confirmation that The Volume will be used for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania should serve as a piece of good news for fans, especially after seeing how this filming technology helped The Mandalorian in a huge way.

This virtual production technique appears to be the ongoing trend for big-budget productions, and this could largely be due to the ongoing pandemic. This approach allows the cast and crew to essentially change the background of a certain environment, thus eliminating the prospect of shooting on location.

Given that Peyton Reed served as a director in multiple episodes of the hit Star Wars series, it’s safe to say that his familiarity with The Volume will also help his vision for Quantumania.

Peyton Reed has proven that he understands this corner of the MCU and has managed to make Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly’s heroes formidable characters. The director hasn’t spoken too much on plot details, but he seems to be putting continued emphasis on the partnership between the titular duo.

All in all, it’ll be interesting to see what the film has in store for the fans.
