The Witcher is treating us to an abundance of new photos from Season 2. We have everything from Geralt and Ciri training to confirmation that Tissaia is still alive.
Courtesy of Comicbook, a majority of the pictures focus on Ciri, who will be learning how to hold her ground with some great guidance and combat training by Geralt. The captions on the images also point to how this is only the beginning of a long, dangerous journey for Ciri, who has lived a sheltered life.
Season 2 will depict Ciri coming to realize her own destiny and all the prophecies surrounding her, eventually becoming a force to reckon with.
Amongst all the fighting, scheming, and battles, this season will show Geralt opening up emotionally as well when he takes on a father-figure role for Ciri. Henry Cavill has confirmed that we will have more scenes of Geralt speaking out his thoughts, and some of the pictures with Ciri around a campfire indicate the same.
After being reunited, Geralt and Ciri will be on their way to Kaer Morhen. While the road to the safe haven itself is perilous, Geralt will have a lot of explaining to do amidst reunions with other witchers and mentor Vesemir.

Those concerned about Tissaia’s fate can heave a sigh of relief, as one of the images also confirmed that she is alive in the aftermath of the Battle of Sodden:
But it is not yet known if she is also captured and taken prisoner, like Yennefer & Fringilla. Speak about the two, their promo image teases that they will form an unexpected alliance. This is probably caused by the fact that they’re captured by the Elves.
(However, there are a few who debate they’re in The Nilfgaardian custody).
A prominent, new character this Season will be Francesca, who will be leading the Elven forces:

I can’t help but miss Jaskier in these images. I hope to see more of him when The Witcher Season 2 premiers, December 17.
