2. Chronological Watch Order

The task ahead might seem a bit complex, but there are several approaches we can take. One option is The Easy Way, which involves arranging all the X-Men movies chronologically, taking us on a journey from the 1960s to the distant future.

This straightforward approach can help provide clarity and structure as we explore the X-Men cinematic universe.

The Easy Way

  • X-Men: First Class
  • X-Men Days of Future Past
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine
  • X-Men: Apocalypse
  • Dark Phoenix
  • New Mutants
  • X-Men
  • X2: X-Men United
  • X-Men: The Last Stand
  • The Wolverine
  • Deadpool
  • Deadpool 2
  • Logan
  • Deadpool & Wolverine

The temporal setting of “Days of Future Past” could be debated, as it occurs in 2023 and 1973. Ultimately, the order is up to personal preference. Additionally, “Deadpool 2” references the events of “Logan,” which is set in 2029.

However, Deadpool seems to follow his path, unbound by the typical timeline. The content has been rewritten to maintain the original meaning and word count while aiming for clarity and a more conversational tone.

The two X-Men timelines

8. About X-Men (MCU)

X-Men is an American superhero film series based on the fictional superhero team of the same name, who originally appeared in a series of comic books created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and published by Marvel Comics.

20th Century Fox obtained the film rights to the characters in 1994, and after numerous drafts, Bryan Singer was hired to direct the first film, released in 2000, and its sequel, X2 (2003), while the third installment of the original trilogy, X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), was directed by Brett Ratner.

In March 2019, Marvel Studios obtained the film rights to X-Men after Disney acquired 21st Century Fox. In October 2020, the films in the X-Men series, along with the Fantastic Four films, were rebranded as Marvel Legacy Movies on Disney+.
