The video released on October 26 has Johannes Roberts, the writer, and director of the movie giving details about the character. He mentions that Chris is a part of the Raccoon Police Department and has “to become more” than just the “small-town hero” he once was.

It also features snippets of Chris’ journey, seeing first-hand the implications of the deadly virus. The video also shows action-packed scenes, trucks toppling over, creatures being shot at but not dying, screams, and of course, lots of blood.

Another thing that makes Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City different is the fact that it’s faithful to its source—the popular gaming series by Capcom—states Amell.

What’s really cool about our movie is that it’s very much an adaptation of the games. It’s like I’m living in the video game. It’s really, really exciting.

RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY Character Vignette – Chris Redfield

Chris’ character first appeared in the 2010 Resident Evil: Afterlife. Wentworth Miller essayed the character in the movie but did not return for any film after that. The baton is now passed on to Amell, who seems another perfect fit for the role.

The movie will also explore the brother-sister relationship as another featurette introduced Claire Redfield as a key character in the plot.

The upcoming Resident Evil movie is a reboot of the franchise and is based on the first two installments. It will take fans back to discovering the virus for the first time and the utter chaos that ensued after it. However, Roberts has changed much of the story to offer a fresh perspective into the Resident Evil universe.
