#RestoreTheSnyderVerse Starts Trending after ‘Snyder Cut’ Release

CEO of WarnerMedia Studios, Ann Sarnoff, spoke to Variety about the newly released Zack Snyder’s Justice League and how it is just a one-off and that it will have no sequels. Despite the movie being a huge hit for HBO Max, even leading the site to crash during its release, Sarnoff’s declaration has led to fans flocking to Twitter to campaign with the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse.

Following the success of the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut which started in 2017 after the disappointing flop of Joss Whedon’s Justice League, there is hope for the future of its new replacement, as many petitions have been filed for the relaunch of the SnyderVerse.

What this petition actually entails is for the direct sequels to the Snyder Cut with more of Batman’s Knightmare timeline and an extensive Darkseid feature. This could even bring director Zack Snyder’s original vision for the future of the DCEU Justice League to fruition by introducing John Stewart’s Green Lantern and solo features on Ray Fisher’s Cyborg and Deathstroke as well.

“I appreciate that they love Zack’s work, and we are thankful for his many contributions to DC. We’re just so happy that he could bring his cut of Justice League to life because that wasn’t in the plan until about a year ago. With that comes the completion of his trilogy. We’re very happy we’ve done this, but we’re very excited about the plans we have for all the multi-dimensional DC characters that are being developed right now.”

However, many have pointed out the problems with Sarnoff’s statement, as the Snyder Cut was never meant to be a third part of the trilogy. It was actually meant to be the first of a trilogy of its own, a three-part Justice League series.

This was made even more evident with the Snyder Cut’s cliffhanger ending, which teases Darkseid, a developing team with a new member’s addition, and an extensive look into the Knightmare.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which received considerable praise for its filming and effects, has been a massive success. But here’s hoping that this will not be the end of it and that #RestoreTheSnyderVerse will be able to bring about a change.

About Justice League Snyder Cut

Co-produced by Warner Bros. and DC Films, Justice League Snyder Cut is the fifth film of the DC Extended Universe and based on the DC Comics superhero team. As the theatrical release, Zack Snyder’s Justice League features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, and Ray Fisher.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League follows the Justice League—Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg—as they attempt to save the world from the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.

Although fans have asked for Snyderverse to continue Warner Bros has no such plans.
