Who won between Rhea Ripley and Natalya at WWE NOC 2023?

Rhea Ripley is still the WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion after brutally squashing Natalya in less than a minute at Night of Champions 2023. The match occurred at the Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, May 27.

The stage was set after Natalya, celebrating her 41st birthday, challenged Ripley for the title on SmackDown. Natalya claimed that she deserved respect and a shot at the gold after being in WWE for over a decade. Ripley, who calls herself “The Eradicator of The Judgement Day,” mocked Natalya and accepted the challenge.

However, before the match could even start, Natalya was distracted by Dominik Mysterio, who accompanied Ripley to the ring. Dominik berated Natalya and called her a loser. Ripley took advantage of the situation and attacked Natalya from behind. She threw her around the ringside area and then back in the ring for a quick Riptide. 

Ripley pinned Natalya and retained her title in just 69 seconds.

Ripley and Dominik celebrated their victory by hugging each other and posing at the top of the ramp. The champion showed no respect for Natalya and proved her dominance once again.

This was Ripley’s second televised title defense since she won the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. She previously defeated Zelina Vega at Backlash 2023. Ripley has been unstoppable since she joined SmackDown and has been living up to her motto: “This is my brutality.”

On the other hand, Natalya suffered a humiliating defeat on her birthday and failed to capture her third women’s title in WWE. She has been one of the most consistent performers in WWE history, but she could not overcome Ripley’s power and aggression.

The 2023 Night of Champions was the 10th Night of Champions professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and live-streaming event produced by the American promotion WWE.

It was held for wrestlers from the promotion’s Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event took place on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and was the first Night of Champions held since the 2015 event.  

This would subsequently be the first Night of Champions held following the reintroduction of the brand split in July 2016 and the first to live stream on Peacock after the American version of the WWE Network merged under Peacock in March 2021. The event also replaces the previously annual Hell in a Cell event.
