Second Half of ‘Lucifer’ Season 5 Coming in May, Announces Netflix

Netflix has announced that the second half of Lucifer season 5 will drop in May. Due to its high episode count, the streaming service had decided to break the season into two parts. The season sees the introduction of Lucifer’s twin Michael and also an appearance by their father, God, in the mid-season finale.

Ever since, fans have been left wondering when the show will resume airing. Now, Netflix has put a rest to all the queries.

Taking to their Twitter account, the streaming service announced that Lucifer would be back again on May 28. Putting it only two months away from now, Netflix followed the update with a picture of Lucifer and Chloe, though it doesn’t seem to be from the new episodes.

Since Netflix is known to hold off dropping trailers until a project’s release is close, fans can expect the first trailer for the second part to come out in the upcoming few weeks. A previous video for the show sees Chloe searching for Lucifer after his fight with Michael.

Not much is known about the plot for part 2 yet, but the trailer should reveal more details as to Lucifer’s whereabouts and God’s role. Furthermore, the back half of season 5 features the musical episode, which was teased last fall at the DC FanDome.

Lucifer stars actor Tom Ellis in the titular role-playing the Devil, who migrates from Hell to Los Angeles and starts a nightclub. Even though the show is one of Netflix’s biggest hits, it originally premiered on Fox.

It ran for three seasons under the network before getting canceled and was later picked up by Netflix. The show has been around for longer than expected but is likely to come to an end with the upcoming season 6.

The cast and crew have started the process of wrapping up production on the entire series. Many have even taken it to social media to commemorate the end of Lucifer, which casts a new light on the upcoming part 2 episodes.

However, it is yet unknown as to when season 6 will premiere. But until then, here’s looking forward to season 5!

Lucifer is an American urban fantasy drama series created by Tom Kapinos. It is based on the DC Comics character from The Sandman, created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg. Warner Bros. Entertainment and DC Entertainment produce the series.

The series revolves around Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), the Devil, who abandons Hell for Los Angeles, where he runs his own nightclub named ‘LUX’ and becomes a consultant to the LAPD. All the while working on his character development to be a better Devil/Angel.

The latest season featured the retirement of God, a lot of broken hearts and mending relationships, ambitious Angels, and the Devil taking it upon himself to right the wrongs of his dear ol’ dad, God.
