Thanks to on-ground location filming, set photos for Marvel’s new miniseries, Secret Invasion, are doing the rounds on social media.
Instagram account Atlanta Filming posted new behind-the-scenes photos, which reveal a significant set detail. If not the entire show, then a part of it will definitely occur in Russia.
The set photos show Halifax Hall, West Yorkshire, England, recreated as Red Square, the oldest and largest square in Moscow. The set is filled with Russian fliers and banners all around.
The banners, as per fans, read “National Unity Day” and are placed alongside giant Matryoshka dolls. Twitter user @SInviasionNews also uploaded a similar image and shared that the scene suggests a vast gathering (or an action scene.)
Red Square and National Unity Day play a significant role in Russia’s history. It marks an important period where Russians united to overthrow Polish invaders in 1612.
The Skrulls will be making a comeback in Secret Invasion, and the celebration of National Unity Day might turn out into an action scene.
An exciting fan theory doing the rounds is that Skrulls might be Russian officials playing their part in the post-blip world.
Fans were introduced to the shape-shifting creatures in Captain Marvel and then Spider-Man: Far From Home. The upcoming show is reportedly a reunion of Nick Fury and the Skrulls.
Interestingly, in a similar Marvel-esque way, there hasn’t been any information about the show except for some incredible cast confirmations.
The photos and video seem like they were shot before filming, as no cast members, including Samuel L. Jackson, Emilia Clarke, Cobie Smulders, were captured in the visuals.
Hopefully, fans will get some plot information besides only leaked photos soon. Filming for Secret Invasion started in September last year, but it looks like the six-episode series still has a long way to go before it wraps up.
