Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion is currently in production on location in Leeds. As more on-set images and videos surface online, fans are already theorizing in hopes of finding out more about the show’s obscure plot details.
The latest images show Cobie Smulders return alongside other primary cast members, whereas the absence of Olivia Colman has fans questioning what the series is planning for her role.
These images also give a more detailed look at Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury with a grey beard and scar sans his iconic eyepatch. Emilia Clarke, Ben Mendelsohn, and Kingsley Ben-Adir have also been spotted.
As Fury and Maria Hill return to the MCU (and Earth) after taking a vacation with the Skrulls in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Hill looks fierce as she sports a bloodied nose in some of the images.
Colman’s first day of shooting was back in October 2021, so the actress might’ve already finished shooting her scenes. Instead, a new addition to the cast, Russian actress Irina Kara, was seen in a mystery role.

Another video showing an explosive scene in progress involves almost all of the main cast. In the video, a controlled explosion is being set off outside The Piece Halls for a scene supposedly set during a Russian event.

Fury’s look raises suspicion for a switch in the timeline. because besides the missing eyepatch, his overall outfit is far from his usual dapper style. Mind you, as it’s Secret Invasion, maybe he’s trying to be incognito to conceal his real identity from the shape-shifting Skrulls.
Secret Invasion is expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime in late 2022. However, recent updates in Marvel’s schedule suggest that it could be pushed back to early 2023, but it still probably has to come out before The Marvels’ February release.

The show will focus on Nick Fury and the alien race of the Skrulls, who have been infiltrating the Earth for years.
