The Flash Season 8 Finale Expected to Feature Familiar Faces

As The CW’s The Flash inches closer to its season finale, the series’ long-time star Danielle Panabaker took to Instagram to share some updates regarding what fans can expect from the final episodes.

The actress talked about the remaining Season 8 episodes and finale, revealing that she is almost done filming for S08E19, with production on the season finale S08E20 currently underway.

Panabaker mentioned that S08E11, Resurrection, which aired on April 13, was her favorite one from the current season. As Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond made his return in Episode 11, Panabaker added that other familiar faces would make their way onto our screens by the season finale.

“We’re getting close to the end of filming for Season 8. I’m working on Episode 19 today. They’ve started filming Episode 20, which is the season finale today, on the other unit. It’s exciting times, the end is near, although the last two episodes always tend to be pretty big! There will be some returning faces for the finale and the last couple of episodes, some familiar faces that hopefully you guys will enjoy seeing.”

Jordan Fisher, who was introduced as Bart Allen in Season 7, recently hinted at his character’s return for Season 8 in a new on-set video where he was hanging out with Candice Patton. So it is likely that he is one of the familiar faces we might get to see in the finale.

As for more details about the recently renewed Season 9, Panabaker added that she doesn’t know much about it, but it definitely is happening.

With its finale set to air on June 29, we suspect the series might go on another short hiatus before that. In the season’s current timeline, Barry’s new big enemy is the Black Flame killer, a supernatural threat hinting heavily toward Ronnie Raymond.

The Flash will air S08E12, Death Rises, on April 27 and see Barry and Cecile team up to stop a deadly new metahuman terrorizing Central City.
